I continued working as a Patent Attorney in Michigan. While at the Patent lawfirm Barnes Kisselle, I started working with a Corporate Patent Attorney - Andrew D. Fortney while helping a partner Randy Tung. Drew and I became friends over the years. We recently went to a blues show at
Yoshies
in
Oakland California. I visit clients and friends in Silicon Valley regularly.
I ended up leaving Barnes, Kisselle and moved to Bliss McGlynn. I worked with two partners - Daniel Bliss and Gerald McGlynn. I was happy to also work with Luis Miguel Acosta again. I worked with both Dan Bliss and Mike Acosta during college when I worked at Harness Dickey and Pierce (a.k.a. Harness Dickey). I also worked with Joseph Burgess, who I still keep in touch with today. Dan, Mike, Gerry, and Joe all practice
Patent Law. I believe Gerry did a fair amount of Patent Litigation.
While at Bliss McGlynn, located in Troy Michigan, I did a lot of work for
Cypress Semiconductor,
located in
San Jose,
the heart of
Silicon Valley. I worked with some very interesting inventors,
like Roland Knaack and Eric Mann. Both Roland and Eric had a profound role in influencing
my early career as a Patent Attorney.
Sometime after I was doing a lot of work for Cypress, a Patent Troll -
Jerome Lemslon
-
targeted the semiconductor industry.
I discuss that more on
page 3.
